Students will be in either the red or the blue class. The class that starts the year with me in the morning is the red class. Mme. Botella's homeroom class is the blue class. We alternate which class starts the day with us each term. Red class will begin their day with me 1st term and 3rd term.
Google Classroom will be used to assign online work. Students will be enrolled in either my red class or blue class. Parents do not need to be connected to this account. Focus portal is the gradebook you want to be checking. Students can access classrooms from home, but they will need to sign in with their school email which is their 9#@graniteschools.org. The password is their chromebook password.

Students are expected to pass off their times tables by the beginning of January. We will have a Knights of the Multiplication Table knighting ceremony a few weeks before they are due to encourage students to finish. We will also have a party to celebrate all of our knights at the end. As of right now, I am using the website timestables.com to track their progress. Students can practice at school and at home. The login with their 9# and 123456 is the password.

Many students enjoy using the website Dreamscape to practice their Language Arts skills and Prodigy for Math. Our class code for Prodigy is E3B627C for the red class and 2F94938 for blue. Dreamscape codes are red: 5UHMQP and blue: V5UJ5S.
Monthly student book orders can be found here. Scholastic offers a couple of different $1 books each month. Plus, each time you order, you help our classroom library earn new books. Our class code is 1EIUX.
Social Studies is mostly taught using the online program Studies Weekly. The information can be read to them or they can read it themselves. If you ask your student to login at home you will be able to view their completed quizzes.
Since the switch was made to PBG grading a few years ago, only assessments (quizzes and tests) are shown in Gradebook. I do my best to keep those scores updated so that you can see your child's progress during the term. If you see a score you aren't happy about, remember that the upside to PBG grading is that they can redo it. I typically ask students to fix what they missed on their original test, go over it with a parent and get it signed, and then return it to me for a retake. Studies Weekly is the exception. In that case, just let me know and I can reopen the test for a retake. Gradebook is my method of communicating how your student is doing in class, so if you are not familiar with it, there are instructions under the general information tab.
